Are you there dude? It's me Dominic Frugoli.

I'm a student at Columbia College Chicago and I'm majoring in Music Technology with a concentration on Hardware and Physical Design. I'm also pursuing a minor in programming. My passions involve all audio electronics, audio programming, and just building fun devices to make some noise with. Hope you like some of the projects on here and feel free to reach out, thanks!

My Story

After I finished high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I liked music, but wasn't really interested in being a performer. I knew I liked songwriting, but that just seemed like a really risky path. And I knew I loved audio gear, but that just seemed like something I spent tons of money on. Because of this uncertainty, I decided to take a gap year (which ended up turning into two with COVID) to try and gather my thoughts and just work. This ended up being a decision I'm very happy with as it allowed me time to grow and really figure out what I was passionate about. I realized that I love figuring out how things work and love the feeling of holding a completed project in your hands, knowing that this is the product of all the hard work and knowledge you've worked to get.

This ended up taking me to Columbia's Music Technology program. It seemed like everything I was looking for. It was a program that was half engineering and half audio. Since arriving at Columbia, I've only gotten more and more passionate about audio electronics. I am constantly building projects and researching new ideas I have. Being at Columbia also introduced me to the world of audio programming. I had not written any code before coming, but I found out it was something that I really liked and found really useful. I think the blending of audio electronics and audio programming using something like embedded hardware is a route that I find very intriguing. In the end though, I am just starting my journey in the world of audio and am learning more every day. Thank you for taking a look around and hope you enjoy!
